The PRS S2 Vela Limited Edition Black Limba in Natural is a distinctive American made instrument that combines lightweight comfort, premium tonewoods, and versatile electronics in a sleek, modern design. Crafted with a solid black limba body, this limited edition model showcases the wood's naturally beautiful grain beneath a satin nitro finish that enhances both its organic character and resonant voice. The signature asymmetric bevel adds visual sophistication while improving playing comfort, resulting in a guitar that feels as refined as it looks. Weighing just 6 pounds 11 ounces, the S2 Vela is exceptionally lightweight, making it an ideal companion for extended rehearsals, recording sessions, and live performances.
The matching black limba neck is constructed with a scarf joint for added strength and stability and is securely joined to the body with a set neck design that maximizes sustain and resonance. Shaped to PRS's comfortable Pattern Regular profile, the neck provides a familiar feel that suits a wide variety of playing styles. A smooth rosewood fingerboard with a 10 inch radius is adorned with the iconic PRS bird inlays and fitted with twenty two PRS standard frets, offering effortless playability for expressive chord work, fluid lead playing, and precise articulation across the entire neck. The versatile 25 inch scale length delivers an ideal balance of warmth, clarity, and string tension, while the PRS double acting truss rod ensures long term stability and easy adjustment.
The S2 Vela's unique pickup combination delivers an exceptionally broad tonal palette. A PRS DS-01 bridge pickup provides punchy attack, focused midrange, and dynamic output that excels with everything from articulate clean tones to rich overdriven textures. In the neck position, the PRS Narrowfield pickup offers remarkable clarity, definition, and hum canceling performance while retaining much of the openness associated with traditional single coils. Controlled by a master volume, push pull tone control, and three way toggle switch, the electronics provide impressive versatility that easily adapts to blues, rock, country, indie, alternative, and modern musical styles.
Premium hardware reinforces the instrument's professional performance. A PRS plate style bridge delivers excellent sustain, dependable intonation, and solid tuning stability, while PRS Phase III non locking tuners with wing buttons offer smooth, precise tuning adjustments. Nickel hardware complements the understated natural finish, and the custom S2 Vela truss rod cover provides a subtle finishing touch. Factory strung with PRS Signature 10 to 46 strings and tuned to standard pitch, the guitar is ready to perform from the moment it is unboxed.
A PRS Premium Gig Bag is included for secure transportation and protection, making it easy to take this exceptional instrument wherever inspiration strikes. Blending the unmistakable craftsmanship of the PRS S2 Series with the distinctive tonal character of black limba and a thoughtfully designed electronics package, the PRS S2 Vela Limited Edition Black Limba in Natural is an inspiring guitar that delivers outstanding playability, expressive tone, and timeless style.
