Taylor 717e Grand Pacific Builder's Edition in Wild Honey Burst w/Hardshell Case

Taylor 717e Grand Pacific Builder's Edition in Wild Honey Burst w/Hardshell Case

GRAND PACIFIC: A BOLD NEW DIRECTION, FORGED IN THE PAST

In 2019, Taylor rolled out the Grand Pacific series, and we were instant fans from first strum. We all know there are many very proud and adoring Taylor Guitars fans all over the globe, but there are always going to be folks looking for a more vintage, boomy sounding guitar. The Grand Pacific design is aimed straight at that corner of the room. The team at Taylor sought out to create a modern classic, and started with a gorgeous sloped shoulder Dreadnaught body shape. Andy Powers designed this Dreadnaught shape to deliver all of the revered qualities we know and love in classic Dreads, but with refinements like a completely original body design, and V-Class bracing, he eliminated some of the things he did not want to bring across tonally from these older designs. Keeping up with the tradition of the 700 series, the 717e B.E. is wrapped up in a gorgeous East Indian Rosewood back and sides that provide great shimmer and presence in the top end, smoothed mids, and a nice big clear bass response. The top is thermally torrefied Sitka Spruce, which is going to bring out even more great balance and life to the 717e. The thermal torrefication process cures the Spruce to provide a more mature "played in"  or "opened up" tone, right off of the showroom wall. The ES-2 Electronics System rounds out the package to offer rock solid tone and reliability in any plugged in situation.

V-CLASS BRACING ADDS PUNCH, RESONANCE, AND NOTE SEPARATION

The internal bracing of the acoustic guitar has so much to do with seasoning the sound and response of the instrument, and Taylor will stop at nothing to keep improving this recipe. Master Builder and Designer Andy Powers came up with this new V-Class bracing to make the absolute most of providing stiffness parallel to the strings, while remaining flexible on either side, to allow for the adequate amount of air to be moved to really project. Players also notice better sustain, and intonation up the neck.

KEEP IT SOUNDING NATURAL WITH ES-2 ELECTRONICS

Expression System 2 was designed to do one thing. Make your guitar sound like your guitar when it's plugged in. Nothing more, nothing less. Three strategically placed Piezos are mounted right behind there saddle, giving you immediate access to be able to balance the pickup to your taste. Each Piezo has a little Allen Screw that you can literally adjust on the fly to get your guitar sounding exactly how you want it to. Combine those features with Taylor's amazing preamp, and you've got one of the most revered electronics systems in the acoustic guitar game!
